Gmail Unread Count 2.0 lets you see how many unread emails you have directly on your home screen! You can have multiple widgets for different accounts and labels so you easily can keep track of different kind of emails

This application now works with latest Gmail version, currently 2.3.5!

This application does not poll your email account for changes but instead listens for changes to the unread count making it have a minimal impact on battery!

Currently not supported on Honeycomb tablets!

There is currently a issue regarding Droid X and 2.3. Droid X users will not be able to buy before I fix this!

How-to use a custom icon:
Place the icon in a directory named gmailunreadcount on the SD card. The icon should be in jpeg/png/gif format and be 72px for hdpi, 48px for mdpi and 36px for ldpi.

* The custom icons will appear after the regular icons.

Great job updating. Took me a little while to figure it out but it does work with nested labels and long as you enter the custom label in with the right format ("top-label-nested-label"). Tapping on the shortcut even takes you right there. Awesome stuff!

When the free version stopped working, I bought the paid version and it doesn't work now either. FIX IT. It's been days, and tons of users are upset. I wish I could get a refund and rebuy it when it's fixed.

Doesn't give accurate message count. Sometimes doesn't even show you have unread mail when you in fact, DO. Needs another update, but hasn't happened.

Old version stopped working correctly so I updated to this version. Installed fine and pretends like it works but it either acts like theirs unread messages when theirs not or their are unread messages that don't show up. Sad this doesn't work because I loved this app! HTC Incredible

I hate to reiterate what everyone else is saying, but the widget is not refreshing promptly anymore. Good luck wrestling with the new Gmail.

Emailed developer 2X - no reply or fix. Count almost always inaccurate. Samsung Galaxy S (Fascinate)
