Please note that not every device supports high-quality sound recordings. Some devices are forced to record in 22 kHz if it's not possible to record in 44 kHz.

Explanation about used permissions

FULL INTERNET ACCESS — to send app stack trace when it crashes. No personal data.

READ PHONE STATE AND IDENTITY — to detect when a phone call is made, so recording can be stopped to prevent audio corruption. Phone numbers, IMEI, or other serial numbers are not accessed at all.

MODIFY/DELETE USB STORAGE/SD CARD CONTENTS — to store recordings in USB or SD card storage.

The only things I don't like about it are 1) there doesn't appear to be any way to stop or pause a recording that you're playing. 2) there's no home screen widget for it so I have to do a little more tapping to bring up the ability to record. My needs require that I be able to quickly, with little effort, be able to record notes, etc. and this doesn't work. BUT for those of you looking to have great sound quality, among its other qualities, this is the perfect app. I use tapeatalk, which does have a widget.

Doesn't need access to my system configuration like many others. Also can increase how loud it will record foyer playback which is helpful.
