Good but annoying menu bar at bottom of screen

The bottom bar annoys me a lot, it gives the same functionality as pressing the menu button. Why not just leave it as a pop up when you actually want any of the features, which in my case is seldom - if ever. Otherwise this is a good news app.

Good little app but it won't let me watch live, either on 3g or WiFi. Using Samsung Google Nexus.
