Some people are suspicious about permissions used in apps. As Android System Info use a lot of them, here are some explanations:

- android.permission.INTERNET
Used for admob (to get ads) and also for flurry which gives me some infos for bugs tracking. A request can also be made to my server to check if a new version is available.

- android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE
Used to read telephony informations for the System tab.

- android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
Used by admob.

- android.permission.READ_LOGS
Used to read logs for the Logs tab.

- android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Used, in the System tab, to access betwork informations.

- android.permission.GET_PACKAGE_SIZE
Used to know applications informations, for Application Manager tab.

- android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Used to write logs to the sdcard.

- android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE
Used to read wifi informations.

-android.permission.RESTART_PACKAGES
Used by the task killer feature.

-android.permission.CAMERA
Used to read camera informations. On some devices(like the motorola droid), accessing to camera info will make some sound.

The fix for landscape mode locks in landscape on Dell Streak. Possibly fixed by editing apk's manifest to set orientation based on device sensors?

It does not appear that I can alter my previous review. As mentioned in the app description, the widget does not work well if the app is moved to the SD card. Unfortunately, some phones now place apps on the SD card by default! I discovered this the hard way when I swapped cards in my Samsung Infuse. To get the widget to work, you must move the ASI app to phone memory (It's in Settings->Manage Applications) and then reboot the phone.

This app has a ton of really useful, great features to help understand what your phone is doing. Unfortunately, on my LG Revo, it reports that it is using between 45% and 55% of the CPU which drains the battery very quickly. As a result, I had to uninstall it. Hopefully this is an isolated issue and can get fixed. I'd definitely use this app if it didn't kill my battery.
