The Vlingo Keyboard was taken out of the latest version, but you can again replicate the functionality if you have Android 2.2 or higher:
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Voice input & output
3. Select Vlingo under the Voice Recognizer drop down

Then you can access Vlingo via the microphone button on whatever keyboard you use.

Great app. Lots of potential!! For the future, Vlingo needs to know how to open a song title, a playlist, will it rain/sunny today?, and speak to you.

Aside from the bluetooth issue Vlingo is a very good app. The auto (beta) works great and the app overall has better voice recognition and ability to perform tasks than voice actions or other apps. But the issue with the phone rebooting with bluetooth connections on Android 2.1 and 2.2 needs to be fixed. Vlingo's response that the user should upgrade to a newer version of Android is not adequate since most users need to wait for their service provider to upgrade their OS. Be more responsive Vlingo!

Not quite Siri but still definitely a good device, especially when on the go! Hopefully the A.I. can be improved in the future to match/exceed Siri.

Great app, especially for hands free in the car. Still needs a few tweaks - like when doing a search, and it asks to confirm you have to press the screen rather then just say yes or cancel. Also needs to be able to set defaults. For instance I use a different note program than the default one on the phone. So when asking it to create a note, it goes to the stock and not the one I'd prefer. Also needs to be able to set alarms and calendar events.

Bluetooth options could be better.

Bluetooth car settings are not functional. Has an option to enable app whenever bluetooth connected, doesn't work. App uses speakerphone when connected to car stereo for some reason. I have to change the head unit to media player for sounds to be played through stereo. Seems like cool options and features, if bluetooth support was better implemented. I won't really be using it until it automatically connects properly to my car stereo. So, uninstall for now.

I like it a lot but when you ask it to call a number it launches the dialer, calls and when the call is over it calls the number again.

I can't believe it' s free. I have used this on my galaxy s for a week now and it is great. keep the phone on charge when in the car though. superb.

Works great. Missing some minor features compared to Siri, but works almost exactly the same as Siri when making calls, doing searches, opening apps, or sending and receiving texts. A.I. voice plays through media audio so it reads my new texts through the speakers when in my car listening to Pandora. Love car mode and how I only have to say "Hey Vlingo" to do something.

This works very well for me. I look forward to more development of this app.... Apps like this keep Android in step with any other competition
