Project Tehuan (which means “we” in the Aztec Nahuatl language) is a pilot initiative of the Centro de Integración Ciudadana (CIC), which seeks to enable the co-participation of citizens through the use of a technology platform for mass collaboration. Through Tehuan, citizens can send - via Twitter, email, SMS, Web or mobile app - their reports of everything that needs attention in the community - from a pothole in the street they drive on, a water leak, a car accident, medical emergency or public safety event.
The main goals of Project Tehuan are:
(a) Help citizens report on events or situations in their community that need attention
(b) Consolidate, sort and publish citizens’ reports, to facilitate cooperation among citizens and between citizens and public agencies
(c) Send notifications and alerts to subscribed citizens according to their subscription preferences
All information sent to Project Tehuan via Web, email, SMS and our mobile app is confidential.
Currently, Project Tehuan only covers the geographical area defined as the metropolitan area of Monterrey, Mexico. Over time, we hope to expand its coverage.
CIC (Project Tehuan) is not an emergency contact center. If you have an emergency, please contact the appropriate agency for help.
