Forget about "kill all" buttons and all the hassle. AMM let's you customize the out-of-memory manager settings on your phone so you don't have to do it yourself with task killers. This works on both rooted and unrooted phones. So just start it up and forget about it.

Gingerbread (and Froyo to a lesser extent) has a very aggressive background process killer to manage memory and speed up your device. This brings your multitaskability down to almost iPhone levels, ie, non-existant. By modifying your OOM groupings, which AMM here does, you can decide when and where your memory is freed by the system itself. AAM doesn't stay active at all, rather it simply changes internal settings. Some other apps like JRUMMY16's toolboxes can do this as well, but not as intuitively.
