Amazon Wireless Offers Samsung Captivate For A Penny

About five days ago, Amazon started selling the high-end Samsung Vibrant (on T-Mobile) for only a penny with a new two year contract. Considering T-Mobile sells the Vibrant for $199, I’d consider the deal to buy the Vibrant for only a penny a pretty good one. AT&T has its own flavor of the Galaxy S smartphone in the form of the Captivate, so I’m sure AT&T users would love to see Amazon offer the same deal for the Captivate and today Amazon has answered your wish.

Amazon Wireless is offering the Samsung Captivate on AT&T for only a penny ($0.01) with free two day shipping. Keep in mind this deal only applies to customers who are signing up for a new two year contract or renewing a current one. Perhaps Amazon will even offer the Epic 4G for a penny when it launches, but I wouldn’t count on it. Either way, this is just another example of why you should purchase cell phones from third party retailers instead of directly from the carrier.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
