ASUS Officially Announces Three Android Tablets

Asus has finally made several of its Android-based tablets at a pre-CES 2011 press event. You’ve probably heard or read about these tablets before but it is only now that Asus is officially launching the products and releasing official photos as well as working units of these Android tablets.

There are three Android tablets, all bearing the famous “EEE” series brand. These three new Android tablets are the Eee Pad Memo, Eee Pad Transformer and Eee Pad Slider. Quickly, lets take a look at each of these tablets’ key features and specs.

Eee Pad Memo

A 7.1-inch tablet with capacitive touch screen feature and supports full 1080p HD video playback via its HDMI port. The Eee Pad Memo is also being geared as a note-taking device via a supplied stylus pen. It runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS. This tablet sports a slim form factor and small enough to fit in your pocket.

Eee Slider

The Eee Slider features a 10.1-inch touch-screen display and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It is loaded with NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core CPU and NVIDIA GeForce GPU. This Android tablet also comes with a built-in digital front-facing and back-facing cameras. It also comes with optional 3G module to make it usable with mobile data SIMs.

Eee Transformer

It’s definitely not a toy but a powerful Android tablet with 10.1-inch capacitive touch-screen, NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset, Adobe Flash support, HD video playback, 1.2MP front-facing camera, 5MP rear-facing camera, and a QWERTY keyboard that doubles up as a battery life extender with up to 16 hours of usage. The Android Tablet will also run on Android 3.0 Honeycomb.
