AT&T Announces Sony S2 Tablet with 4G Support

Sony has an interesting tablet under wraps dubbed the Sony S2 Tablet.  What makes this tablet interesting and unique from other devices is the fact that it boasts dual 5.5 inch touch screen displays.  The tablet reminds me of the Kyocera Echo on Sprint, a smartphone that had two displays to mimic a tablet, however, the Echo didn’t perform as well as Sprint executives had hoped, so it will be interesting to see how the S2 fares when it launches in the Fall.

In addition to the two screen displays with 1024 x 480 resolution, the S2 boasts Android 3.0 and 4G HSPA+ connectivity on AT&T’s network.  Unfortunately, the press release did not mention the processor, camera(s), or onboard storage space.  Pricing and exact availability is said to be forthcoming, but it should be launching within the next couple of months.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
