Become a Master Thief with Bluewind’s Thief Lupin! for Android

Overview

Thief Lupin! is a quirky new Android game from Bluewind that lets you play a master thief that’s trying to sneak his way to the top. Be warned… Thief Lupin! is an easy game to play and it’s highly addictive, so you might want to clear up some free time before you fire up the game.

In Thief Lupin! your job is to climb a series of towers floor by floor while snatching every dime you come across along the way. Controlling your sneaky little thief is as simple as touching the screen, but the way he moves can vary from floor to floor. Sometimes you’ll tap to jump while other times you’ll tap and hold to do a funky little shrink-jump; it’s a nice gameplay mechanic that works and keeps things interesting. The games Towers are broken down into 60 stages each, I’m not quite sure what happens when you clear one, but I’ve had a lot of fun getting halfway through the first tower. As for extras, there are several different characters to unlock and each has its own gear. Characters and gear are purchased with the gems you pick up during gameplay, and if you don’t want to earn them you can always buy them via an in-app purchase.

Verdict

There’s a lot to like about Thief Lupin!, the premise, gameplay and graphics are all well done and it’s a blast to play. The only thing that really hurts the game are the ads which seem to randomly appear in the menus and during gameplay. It is a free ad-supported game and the ads don’t block the stage you’re on, but I could definitely see it being a distraction for some folks. Either way, it’s a solid game and as mentioned it’s highly addictive. If you’re in the mood to do a little thievery you can pick up Thief Lupin! in the Android market for free.
