Breaking: Samsung Galaxy Nexus Will Launch Tomorrow For $299 On Contract

After weeks and weeks of speculation, rumors, leaks, tips, and whispers, the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Nexus launch was quickly turning into a major flop for Verizon Wireless.  Countless of retail stores had leaked December 15th as the launch date, but since previous launch dates had come and gone, the credibility of retail stores was quickly diminishing.

Fortunately for Samsung Galaxy Nexus fans, the rumored date of December 15, 2011 turned out to be correct as Verizon Wireless officially announced  the launch date and pricing for the Galaxy Nexus today.

According to the recently published press release, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is going to go on sale tonight at 1AM for online purchase only.  Otherwise, it will be in-store starting tomorrow for $299 on a two year contract.  Given the immense amount of attention and hype the Galaxy Nexus has received, especially since it is touted as the best Android smartphone on the market, we expect there to be a lot of purchases taking place over the next couple of days.

Hopefully Verizon, Samsung, and Google will be able to avoid any product shortages because the customers have already waited this long for the first Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone, they surely do not want to wait any longer.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
