Dell Streak To Launch With AT&T For $299 On Contract, $549 otherwise

The highly anticipated Dell Streak will be available for very soon for general purchase in America. A new video was released on YouTube by Dell explaining some key information regarding the tablet/smartphone also known as the Dell Streak. In the video, the device was shown running Android 2.1, even though it is going to launch with Android 1.6. However, the good news here is that the Dell spokesperson in the video promised all Dell Streaks will be upgraded to Android 2.2 at some point in the future. In addition, the carbon colored Streak will be available first in the United States followed by a cherry-red colored Streak.

In terms of pricing, the 5 inch Streak will be available for a two year contract on AT&T for $299. You can purchase the Streak for $549 in case you do not want to be restricted to a two year contract. If Dell can push Android 2.2 out quickly to the Streak, it should be a very promising tablet/smartphone on AT&T. The second largest carrier in the United States is about to get a very nice addition.
