Dell: The Off Contract Dell Streak Is SIM-Locked to AT&T

One advantage of purchasing a device for its unsubsizdized price is the ability to use it on a different carrier. Many people were under the assumption that purchasing the Dell Streak for its full retail price ($549) would allow him/her to use it on a different network. Unfortunately, that will not be the case as LionelatDell tweets a different message:

Lots of folks are asking about the $549 version of #dellstreak. To be clear, it will not be unlocked. It is SIM-locked to AT&T.

No matter how you look at it, purchasing the device on a two-year agreement or for its full price, you are still stuck using AT&T and not an international carrier if you so desire.
