Does Verizon Wireless Have a 16GB Motorola Xoom With 4G in the Pipeline?

If you are looking for a cheaper Motorola Xoom that still features 3G connectivity and the option for 4G in the future, you are out of luck at the moment. Currently, the 32GB Motorola Xoom with 3G connectivity for $799 is the only available 3G model. Similarly, the WiFi only Xoom is also 32GB, and retails for $599, but lacks the 3G radio.

Based on the screen shot above received by Droid-Life, Verizon Wireless could be working on a Motorola Xoom 16GB with 3G connectivity, that would naturally be sold at a lower price point than the 32GB model. Likewise with the current model, Verizon Wireless promises that 16GB model is also upgradeable to 4G in the near future.

While 32GB may not seem like a whole lot of hard drive space for the media powerhouse user, but for the average customer, 16GB handles your media library just fine. Unfortunately, the screen shot does not reveal any pricing or release information, but Droid-Life believes the price point could be around $699. Personally, I think $699 is a decent price for Verizon Wireless to sell it at, but I would love to see them sell it for $649, just to make it even more competitive with the iPad 2.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
