Flickr app for Android gets a refreshed user interface and some more new features
Among the many photo-related apps for Android Flickr is among those backed by a well-known company. And in today’s ecospace where mobile phones and social sharing sites are big on photo apps, it’s a pity that the Flickr Android app has not yet received a much needed attention. Well, perhaps soon especially since the app has just been updated to a new version featuring some nice new features.
The app is not at version 1.5.0 and the major new thing introduced is of course a refreshed user interface with emphasis on the new navigation menus with new ways of exploring the Flickr photo catalog via nearby location and level of interest. This is in addition to the previous photo library search, profile, camera, notifications and upload options on the menu tabs.
Another new feature is the addition of options to choose your camera or other camera app when tapping the camera tab at the app’s main screen. There’s also a pull down refresh function which provides the most recent notications and uploads.
The app’s change log lists the new features as follow:
- Explore the most interesting photos around the world
- Edit details on your existing photos
- Choose any camera installed on your device to take a photo
- Improved Search
- See HTML content in comments and descriptions
- Pull down to refresh content on a screen
- Bug fixes
Flickr for Android is available now as free download from Google Play.
