Google+ Android App Updated, Huddle is Now Called Messenger

Google has just announced some pretty big updates for Google+, not only the desktop version but for the Android app as well. So Google+ Android app is now in version 1.0.7 and one of the newest feature is the ability to join Hangouts using your Android phone. Previously, Google+ Hangout is available only on the desktop version of Google+. Now, you can join in any public Hangout no matter where you are for as long as your Android phone is connected to the Internet. Google+ Hangouts supports Android phones running on Android 2.3+ OS with front-facing cameras.
The complete list of new features added to Google+ Android app include:
- Join Hangouts from the mobile app
- Set profile photo
- Huddle is now Messenger
- Send photos in Messenger
- Reliability improvements in Messenger
- Long press on posts in stream to +1, share and mute
- Improved video playback support
- Improved public search for people
- Granular push notification settings
- Move app to your SD card
- Improved +mention support
Incidentally, if you’re not on Google+ yet because nobody is sending you invites, well you can now sign-up on your own as Google+ has just been put into open beta. This means, anybody can sign-up now without any invites.
Google+ Android app is available now as a free download from the Android Market.
