Google Nexus 7 16GB Model Out Of Stock In Play Store

As a result of unprecedented demand, the 16GB model of the Google Nexus 7 tablet is unavailable for purchase in the Google Play Store at this time.  If you absolutely need the 16GB model, then you can check your local electronics retail stores because they may have the device in stock.  Otherwise, the 8GB model of the Nexus 7 is in stock and currently shipping from the Google Play Store.

Google mistakenly believed the cheaper 8GB model would appeal to customers more and increased production for the 8GB model while producing fewer units of the 16GB mode.  It is my understanding that Google is quickly trying to rectify the situation with Asus to meet demand for the 16GB model.

Since the Nexus 7 lacks microSD memory expansion, it makes sense that many customers prefer the 16GB model since it allows for more local storage for only $50 more.  For now, you can opt to be notified when the 16GB is back in stock by giving Google your email address.

We’ll keep our eyes tuned to the Play Store and let you know when the 16GB Nexus 7 begins shipping again.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
