Got Root? The Motorola Droid X Does

I tell ya, when you tell a hacker “You’re not allowed to mod this phone,” it’s like you’re just adding the icing to the cake; it only makes it that much more appealing. The lovely eFuse software Moto included with the Droid X phone has been making life difficult for many that want to play with the innards of their new phones. But no more! The Motorola Droid X is now officially rooted after a whole week of it being released. Stephen Bird and his team are the ones you can thank for the hard work over at AllDroid.com for making the root possible.

Also, for those of you a little weary to try a command line interface there is a one-click root now available. Sil3ntKi113 of the All Droid forums has released a free GUI tool which roots your Droid X with just one click. Just download the DroidXRoot GUI tool from GUI DroidXRoot and extract all the files to your desktop.

Unfortunately ROM flashing is still out of the question so no Cyanogen or Jesus Freak custom mods just yet. The boot loader and recovery image are another area entirely to be cracked, but to be certain if it is man-made it can be cracked.
