Having Mad Men Withdrawls? Try the Mad Men Job Interview for Android

Overview
Mad Men’s season may be over, but you can still get a job at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce in AMC’s Mad Men Job Interview Android game. The game’s been out since last year, and flew well under my radar as we didn’t get a season last year. I just stumbled across this one a few days ago, and even though it’s dated and simple, it’s still a good time if you’re a fan of Mad Men.
The Mad Men Job Interview is a simple app that asks you a series of 7 questions and gives you a position at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce depending on your answers. Do you want to be a full partner like the big boys, a junior partner like Pete or a scribe like Ginsberg? It’s all going to depend on your answers, and luckily for you this will be the easiest job interview you’ve ever had as the questions never change. You’re given 7 questions by members of the staff starting off with Joan and Harry, and progressing to Don and Roger; no appearance from Mr. Cooper, but do get a little Lane which is nice considering last week’s finale. The questions are all multiple choice and as mentioned and they don’t change which sucks, but this does allow you to get a good position without sleeping your way to the top or killing your liver with Don & Roger over too many business “meetings.” At the end of the interview you’re offered a position based on your answers and if you’re lucky you’re hired into the company where you can smoke and booze your way to oblivion Mad Men style. I got Joan my first go and Harry on my second and third; as little as this app does it says something that I keep going back trying to see if I can get partner or sales.
Verdict
Mad Men Job Interview could have been amazing, but falls well short of that unfortunately. As a true fan I still enjoyed this little app as I dig anything Mad Men and can prove it with my 60’s era shot dispenser sitting on my coffee table. AMC has popped out a few games and apps related to its shows and while it doesn’t seem to update them, it’s still cool that they put them out to begin with and I look forward to seeing what else they do. Here’s hoping we’ll get an actual Mad Men game at some point and time (advertising agency sim!!), until then you can head on over to Google Play and checkout the Mad Men Job Interview app.
