HTC Launches Six Android Devices at MWC 2011
Obviously three of these devices are literally new while the other three are updates of previous models. So, let’s take a quick look at the specs and features of these Android smartphones and Android tablet.
The HTC Flyer is a 7-inch tablet running Android 2.4. Take note, that’s neither the Android Honeycomb nor Android Gingerbread that we know right now. Reports say that it is a slightly enhanced version of Gingerbread. What makes the HTC Flyer different from other Android tablets is the fact that it runs several of HTC’s proprietary mobile applications including HTC Sense, HTC Watch, HTC Scribe and OnLive Technology. Specs of the HTC Flyer include – 1.5 GHz single-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB flash storage, 7-inch touch sensitive screen display (1024×600), 5MP back-facing camera, and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. The HTC Flyer is expected to become available in Q2 2011.
HTC Salsa and HTC Cha
If you’ve been monitoring the news lately, you must have read about the rumored Facebook phone which HTC is said to be making. Well, these are the phones the rumors were pertaining to. Surprisingly, it comes in two models. And yes, both phones have the Facebook button located at lower part of the device. Both phones will run Android 2.4 Gingerbread like the HTC Flyer, 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM2277 processor, 5 MP camera with auto-focus and LED flash and VGA front-facing camera for video calls. The HTC ChaCha has a 2.6-inch screen while the HTC Salsa has a 3.2-inch display. Both smartphones will be available sometime in Q2 2011.
HTC Wildfire S, HTC Desire S, HTC Incredible S
Now for the upgraded version of previously released HTC smartphones, we have the HTC Wildfire S, HTC Desire S and HTC Incredible S. The HTC Desire S features a 1GHz MSM8255 processor, dual front and back cameras, High-Definition video recording and 3.7-inch WVGA display. The HTC Widlfire S boasts of a 3.2-inch HVGA display, 5MP camera with auto-focus, expandable microSD memory and support for a variety of audio and video formats make a great all-around multimedia device that slips easily into any pocket. Finally we have the HTC Incredible S with a clear HD 4-inch WVGA Super LCD, stereo surround sound, 8MP camera with dual flash, and DNLA technology. All smartphones will be available in Q2 2011 for the European and Asian markets.
