HTC Rhyme Will Launch September 29th For $199 With Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless is gearing up to launch a new 3G Android smartphone on September 29th — the HTC Rhyme.  If you do not wish to wait until September 29th to pick up the Rhyme, then you may want to head over to your local Target retail store starting tomorrow, as they are running an exclusive pre-order on the device.

For $199 on a two year contract, you are essentially getting mid-range specs, but it does come with a few neat accessories in the box, so don’t be completely deterred by its seemingly high price point.  In terms of specs, you can expect a 3.7 inch touch screen display, Android 2.3, 5MP rear facing camera, single-core 1GHz processor, front facing camera, and HTC Sense 3.5.

The HTC Rhyme comes with three accessories: the HTC Charm, Docking Station, and Tangle Free Headphones.  The last two accessories are pretty much self explanatory, but the Charm is an interesting product.  Essentially, it attaches to your smartphone via a cord and will light up in different colors to alert you a call, voicemail, text, etc came through.  You will not only be notified of the message, but you will be able to quickly yank on the cord to recover your phone if it is embedded within your bag.

Again, the Rhyme will launch on September 29th with Verizon Wireless for $199 on a two year contract, and the pre-order period begins tomorrow with Target.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
