Jetpack Joyride now on the Google Play Store
A little over a month ago the popular iOS game Jetpack Joyride became available for Android devices. There was one small problem though, or a big problem depending on which country you live in. The game by Halfbrick Studios launched on the Amazon app store for Android which at the time was only available in the US. Since then, Amazon have launched their app store in a few more countries, specifically select European countries such as France, Germany and the UK. Other countries however are still without the Amazon app store which in turn meant that they could not download and play the addictive Jetpack Joyride.
This has now changed though as Halfbrick Studios have released their side scrolling game on the Google Play Store. As on the Amazon app store, Jetpack Joyride is free to download and play from the Google Play Store. The game adopts the freemium game model that a majority of games have taken though. You can complete the game without spending a penny but, if you want to progress in the game quicker you can use real cash to buy extras.
For those who missed what Jetpack Joyride is about, you play as Barry in this side scrolling game who breaks into a secret lab and thwarts evil scientists. You can fly over the scientists with your jetpack, while collecting coins which enable you to upgrade your jetpack which will help you to progress further in the game. It however isn’t quite as simple as that, there are obstacles such as laser beams to avoid.
