Leaked Sprint Roadmap Hints At The Samsung Epic 2 and Samsung Within For Q3

Even though Sprint just launched the HTC EVO 3D, the HTC EVO View 4G, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 today, it looks like the wireless carrier is gearing up for quite the summer, if this Q3 roadmap is to be believed.  According to a “trusted source,” Sprint is destined to launch the Samsung Epic 2 as well as the Samsung Within.

Essentially, the Samsung Epic 2 will be the successor of the Samsung Epic 4G and the Samsung Within is Sprint’s rendition of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone that has already launched overseas but is currently MIA in the United States.

The Epic 2 features a 4.0 inch touch screen display (hopefully it is Super AMOLED Plus), 8MP rear facing camera, similar QWERTY slider keyboard form factor, and a single-core 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor.  No word on whether it retains the front facing camera or what version of Android it runs, but my guess is that the VGA front facing camera stays and it launches with Android 2.3.  At this time, pricing or availability is not known, but it will launch sometime between July, August, and September, if the roadmap rumor pans out.

Next up we have the Samsung Within, which is being billed as a “full touch 4G” smartphone.  The Galaxy S II smartphone features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3, 8MP rear facing camera, and a front facing camera.

It will be interesting to see if the leaks and rumors that will probably surface in the coming days and weeks, now that the roadmap for Sprint Q3 has been leaked.

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
