Lenovo IdeaPad U! Hybrid with LePad Slate Now an Android Tablet
Lenovo made some splash during CES 2010 when it announced the Lenovo U1 Hybrid Slate. Unfortunately after the event we did not hear anything about the device anymore. But now, Lenovo seems to be all ready to unleash the said device as the Lenovo LePad and IdeaPad UI Hybrid Android device. Another unfortunate thing is that right now, now words yet on when this Android-powered device is going to hit the US market. But for our readers in China, you’ll soon have a chance to get a hands on of this Android device.
For its second coming, the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid with LePad slate will feature a unique two-in-one device combining the mobility of a rich HD slate with access to Android apps and a keyboard-base tablet running on full Windows 7 OS. You can use one apart from the other or combine them as well via hybrid switch dual mode capability.
As a touchscreen slate, the Lenovo LePad is powered by Qualcomm SnapDragon processor and provides you with 8 hours of battery life. It will be available in scarlet, white, brown leather and black leather textured designs. It will also feature a 10.1-inch widescreen display and a front-facing camera for video chat.
For the IdeaPad U1 tablet feature, the device runs on Windows 7 and has full keyboard. It runs on Intel CULV processor and will let you switch from Windows 7 to Android OS via the LePad slate.
The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 LePad Hybrid device will retail for around $520 for the LePad only and $1,300 for the hybrid package. It will be released in China during the first quarter of 2011. No words yet on when it be coming to the US market, but we’re pretty positive it will happen soon.
