LG Optimus Vu On Verizon Wireless Leaks, Reveals 5 Inch Screen, Android 4.0, and LTE

LG believes the world is ready for two high profile phablet devices as it prepares to launch its Optimus Vu in America through Verizon Wireless. The Samsung Galaxy Note is the original phablet with a 5.3 inch screen on AT&T and soon T-Mobile, but it looks like the Optimus Vu will be Verizon’s first phablet.

The device image was leaked to AndroidPolice and it sits next to a Galaxy S III.  As you probably know, the Galaxy S III features a 4.8 inch display and the Optimus Vu boasts a 5 inch display, but it appears absolutely ridiculous with its 4:3 aspect ratio.  It’s hard to imagine the phone fitting comfortably in my palm or pocket.

The Optimus Vu was originally announced back at MWC 2012, and it is anticipated to feature Android 4.0, 8MP rear facing camera, 1.3MP front facing camera, Stylus support, 32GB of on board memory, and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor.  As mentioned in the title, it features 4G LTE connectivity on Verizon’s network.

Given the fact that we are already seeing a leaked image, I imagine it is only a couple of weeks before Verizon and LG formally introduce the phablet to the public.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
