Monkeys, Masks and Hidden Objects in Pirate Mysteries for Android

Overview

Pirate Mysteries is a new game from Kristanix games that tells a tale of monkeys, masks, and hidden objects found in exotic lands. You’ll need to try to save your demon possessed father and solve ancient riddles as you journey from the shores of the Atlantic to the dark corners of the Underworld. That’s just a summery from what has to be the coolest sounding market description of a hidden object game ever. Hidden Object game involving possessed fathers, treasure, monkeys, and the land of the dead? Count me in…

The game follows a storyline and lets you travel to different locations using your map. Most locations are for hidden objects, but some are for mini-games. As it is a hidden object game you’ll have to find specific objects on a list; you can use the pinch/zoom function to zoom in on the screen and you’re also given a hint option that can be used when the hint meters full. I enjoyed the stages that involved “Riddles” where you’re given a riddle, and the answer to the riddle is the object you have to find. That was a nice change of pace to have and something you don’t see in a lot of hidden object games. Pirate Mysteries is a deep game as well with 30 levels, 10 mini-games and an Arcade mode that can be unlocked once you’ve completed the main storyline.

Verdict

While I haven’t gotten to spend a lot of time with the game, so far I like what I’ve seen. Pirate Mysteries has a storyline with plenty of humor and the stages are fun to work through as well. The only knock I’ve got on the game thus far is that the backgrounds get a little fuzzy when you zoom in; this hindered me a few times, but was easily worked around by using a hint. Fans of Hidden Object games should enjoy solving Pirate Mysteries, and you can get it for $0.99 cents in the Android market.
