Motorola DROID RAZR And RAZR MAXX Receive Android 4.0 Upgrade Starting Today

Today, we have some great news for early adopters of the Motorola DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX.  Verizon Wireless and Motorola are ready to deploy the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade to all users Over-The-Air.  The upgrade is ready to roll out now, but I imagine will take at least a week to fully complete — patience is key here, folks.

Along with Android 4.0, the upgrade brings about several improvements to the UI and specific functions such as voice input and the front facing camera.  In addition, with the update the two DROID RAZR devices become global ready, meaning they can be taken overseas and operate as usual assuming an international plan is in play before leaving the U.S.

It is also worth reminding our users that MotoBlur will still remain on the two devices, but will change to mesh better with Android 4.0.  Feel free to post in the comments below if you successfully upgraded your device to Ice Cream Sandwich.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
