Motorola Droid X Available Tomorrow, Teaser Video Lands Today

We’re just a few hours away from the Motorola Droid X officially launching and I have a little bit of news regarding the Droid X to get you pumped up for Verizon’s latest Android offering. Verizon uploaded a teaser video to YouTube today which basically shows Astronauts discovering a floating rock and then cuts immediately to the word “tomorrow” and then the Droid X logo. The video as a whole has nothing to do with the phone but it does look pretty cool.

Now, Verizon is offering a special deal for customers who wish to take full advantage of the Motorola Droid X by increasing its storage to 40GB. The not-so-common 32GB SanDisk microSD card will be available for $50 with every Droid X purchase. Otherwise, the giant (in terms of storage) microSD card retails for $150. The Motorola Droid X comes with 8GB of onboard memory and is equipped with a 16GB microSD card totaling 24GB. Basically, you would have to remove the 16GB card and install the 32GB one in order to use 40GB of storage.

Remember, if your contract ends anytime before December 31, 2010, you are eligible to purchase the Motorola Droid X or any smartphone immediately. Hopefully the launch goes smoothly tomorrow, especially considering a Verizon spokeswoman confirmed retailers are equipped with enough Droid X devices.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
