New Details Surrounding the Nexus Tablet Emerge, Set To Be Announced At Google I/O
With Android tablets failing to impress, Google will likely jump into the market in an attempt to resurrect Android’s position with the Nexus tablet manufactured by Asus. For a while, details were being leaked about the device, possible specs, pricing, and launch date, but today we are getting a complete picture as a result of leaked training materials picked up by Gizmodo Australia.
To begin, the Nexus Tablet’s unveiling at Google I/O later this week is almost a guarantee. We have seen too many leaks and rumors as of late for Google to announce the device at any point in time. Further, we have a strong idea of the specs we will see beginning with a 7 inch display and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
To complement the screen and software, we have a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 8GB/16GB of storage space, 1GB of RAM, 1.2MP front facing camera, 8 hour battery life, NFC connectivity, and WiFi. The 16GB model will cost more at $249, while the 8GB model will hold steady at a $199 price tag.
While the specs and price tag are nice, we’re hoping Google has some unique software integration or features to really “wow” us and make consumers want to buy this tablet over the Kindle Fire, iPad, or Galaxy Tabs.
