New HTC Droid Incredible 2 Leak Reveals Global Capability

It is no surprise that HTC is planning a successor to the widely popular HTC Droid Incredible in the form of the HTC Droid Incredible 2. In the past few weeks, we have seen several leaks pointing towards a launch date sometime in late April or early May. Unfortunately, we still don’t know the price tag for the Droid Incredible 2, but today, we found out that the DInc 2 will be a world phone and feature two cameras.

Similar to the Droid 2 Global and the Droid Pro on Verizon Wireless, the Droid Incredible 2 will be able to take and place calls overseas in 220 countries, while data will be possible in 200 countries. For the avid traveler or businessperson, having a smartphone with connectivity in areas other than the United States is critical. In addition, the Droid Incredible 2 will feature the same 8MP rear facing camera, but it is joined by a 1.3MP front facing camera to make video communication possible. Instead of the 8GB microSD card found in the original Droid Incredible, the successor will contain a 16GB microSD card for more video, music, and app storage.

It sports a new Sync and Connect feature to support more email addresses and contacts in one convenient location. The screen size has been upped from 3.7 inches to 4.0 inches, and the 1GHz processor remains the same. Lastly, the leaked image makes note of a Mobile Hotspot plan that entails 20GB of data for $20 a month. However, this is most likely a typo, but at least the Mobile Hotspot capability will be included, albeit, at a different price.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.

If it is not 4G compatible, what’s the point, if all those extra gadgets packed into a new device to increase the ability to interface with other devices while still operating only on 3G why bother? I want a full upgrade, and I think it would be foolish to settle for anything sub par just to shell out more later for a new device with all the features you wanted in the first place. Honestly we as consumers tell the corporations how to do business, since we just need to band together and send our message and if needed stop consuming. Also I’m not a big fan of contract termination fees, so when you sign yours read and strike out the part that outlines the cancellation fee (draw a line through it) and sign it and turn it in. If they don’t catch what you did and accept the contract your home free to a legally binding contract, because they accepted it after you modified it.
