Play by AOL Music Android App reaches 250,000 downloads
With only three weeks after it was released on the Android Market, AOL’s Android app, Play by AOL Music has already been downloaded by more than a quarter million – making the app one of the fastest-growing mobile apps, including among the current crop of Android apps, today. The app is actually a pretty nice music player that lets you listen to music tracks from AOL Music as well to what your friends are listening to.
Play by AOL Music is also a social music app as it allows you to share and dedicate music experiences including personalized album art or messages via Facebook and Twitter. It also lets you discover new music by following your friends on Play as well as listen to free AOL music content including Spinner’s free MP3 of the Day and AOL Music’s CD Listening Parties. The app also gives you full-length previews of up to 20 new and breaking albums. from popular artists.
And recently, the app was updated with more nice features including refresh feed option, new albums from REM, Leon Russel and more, landscape view for screens with text entry, and About Rdio in my Profile plus the usual round of bug fixes. I was able to give this music player app a quick try and I would have to say that it was pretty good. The overall design and interface of the app was nicely done and the Android is easy-to-use. Streaming music from the AOL Music site is quite fast as well.
