Hands On with Sony’s New Photo Movie Creator

Overview

Have you ever wanted to turn the pictures from your phone into a movie? Well thanks to Sony, there’s  an Android app for that. With the release of Photo Movie Creator you can make a slideshow style movie using any pictures you choose. It pulls photo’s from your phone, and you can select which ones you want it to use. There are several different themes to choose from, and each theme has its own music.

Features

From the main movie screen, you can select your theme, give your movie a title, or select what pictures to show from the group you chose. There are several different themes to choose your background from including Travel, Wedding, Kids, Sports, Weekend & Everyday Life. Each of those categories has three themes, giving you a total of 18. The audio sounds great, and there is different music to go along with each theme.

Next up is photo selection. Say you selected a group of pictures taken from a night on the town, and have a few you don’t want shown. You can unselect these from the film by simply touching the thumbnail of the photo. You can also change the order of the pictures, or set them to shuffle. Captions can be added as well, letting you add a personal touch to your photos.

Verdict

Overall, it’s a very easy app to use. If your not a tech savvy person, you’ll still be able to make movies with ease. There are plenty of settings to play with, and you can share a movie via Facebook or E-Mail. I also really liked the music, all the tracks fit well with the themes. If you’d like to check out Sony’s Photo Movie Creator, you can find the trial and paid versions in the Android Market.
