Muffin Knight – Android Game Review
Are you a fan of Knights and Wizards? How about Muffins…do you like those? Well, if you answer is yes to either one of those questions (or both), we have just the game for you called Muffin Knight. Muffin Knight is a cool new game from developer Angry Mob Games, maker of the popular Guerrilla Bob. In Muffin Knight you’ll need to grab the Magic Muffins when they appear while doing battle against dragons, turtles, bats, goblins and pigs just to name a few.
Ok, the gameplay is definitely unique in Muffin Knight, as every time you grab a muffin you’ll instantly change into a different character with unique abilities. You’ll basically jump around avoiding enemies and taking them out while picking up muffins as they appear. If you touch an enemy you die and your muffin-count will be reset. As you progress the levels get bigger, and the enemies tougher. It may seem easy at first, but you’ll soon find out this isn’t just a cute game about grabbing muffins.
Muffin Knight has some pretty deep gameplay with 6 different worlds, and 15 different characters to unlock. As you kill monsters and pick up muffins you’ll gain XP, and once you level up you’ll earn a point. These points can be used to level up your characters, buy extra lives, or buy perks. All 15 characters can be leveled up and some will even receive new abilities. The perks cost 2 points each and give you different abilities like slowing down time, and the very handy Monster Hopper perk.
There’s a lot of variety in Muffin Knight; from archers & knights to a rainbow-bomb pooping unicorn…there’s a little something for everyone in this game. I really enjoyed the whole constantly changing character thing and think it adds a whole different dimension to the game. All the characters are well done, and have cool attacks like black holes (nice touch) or breathing fire. Muffin Knight is a very slick game, and we highly recommend you check it out. No lite version is available at this time, but you can grab the paid version for $2.99 in the Android market.
