Quick Review – Veggie Dog for Android

Veggie Dog is a quirky new game from Click Connect Co. that has you controlling genetically altered Dog that loves vegetables.  You’ll need to avoid being detected by the farmer as you sneak onto his farm to try and steal veggies during the night. It’s a very quick game to play through, but fun nonetheless as you’ll soon find out.

Now that you know the premise we’ll cover the basics as you’re given a joystick to control the little 3D pooch and a button for a “super bark.” Each level is basically a small maze and you’ll need to navigate your dog from one end, past the farmer(s), and grab the veggies without getting caught. As with any puzzle game there will be plenty of obstacles in your way in the form of hay bales, boxes and other assorted objects. It’s actually pretty easy to get past the farmers that don’t move, but the ones that run around are a bit harder to get away from. You can freeze farmers in place with your super-bark although once they’ve caught site of you it’s generally over unless you escape through a bush or are close to an exit. Not much to see in the extras department, but you do get 50 levels overall and there are around 20 achievements to unlock as well.

The best way to describe Veggie Dog is as a happy little game that’s simple to play. I’ve not played through the entire game, but from what I’ve seen it’s pretty easy although it does offer up 50 levels so it could get difficult later in the game. The graphics are well done, and the controls are dead on which means even the kids won’t have any trouble controlling the vegetable loving pup. Veggie Dog is a fun casual game that looks great and is easy to pick up and play. You can get Veggie Dog in the Android market for free.
