TweetDeck for Android Beta Gets Some Early Updates

That was certainly fast for TweetDeck to release a new build of  its wonderful Android app. It’s barely a week since the first TweetDeck beta build was released and despite the many accolades that the app received, including our own nice review, the app’s developers would not just rest on their laurels. And so, a new beta build was released just now. You can grab the TweetDeck Android Beta .apk from here.

So, what does the new beta build of TweetDeck for iPad has to offer? According to the TweetDeck Blog most of the updates were bugs fixes to make the app more stable. Aside from that, the update also brings in new column settings page. This means that you can now set individual columns with notifications, LED flashing, sound and vibrate. You can even use a combination of these notification settings. Another nice feature is the facility to set the refresh rate per column and delete the column from this page.

Other new features of TweetDeck for Android include – share ïntent” which allows you to send images, links and content into TweetDeck and TweetDeck is now listed when you click share in most Android apps. The new version also now supports bit.ly for URL shortening, font resizing, heavy data usage optimizations, and more phone support.
