Rubicon Development Unleashes GTWG: All Out War for Android

Overview

One of my favorite Android games got an awesome update of sorts as the folks behind Great Little War Game have just unleashed GLWG: All Out War. Before you get too excited Great Little War Game: All Out War isn’t really a sequel or follow-up to the original, but more of an expansion pack to extend the adventures of the crew from GLWG.

If you’re not familiar with the original Great Little War Game… well, you’ve missed out. It’s one of the best turn-based strategy games out there with its amazing 3D graphics and top-notch gameplay. The game also has a sense of humor as you’ll quickly find out from the Generalissimo and his men. The new expansion let’s you control all the same soldiers you grew to love from the first adventure through 2 brand new campaigns called “All Out War” and “Holiday from Hell.” All out War gives you a 10 mission mini-campaign while Holiday from Hell gives you 15 tough missions as you help the Generalissimo find a nice spot for a holiday. There are 4 different difficulty settings, but no achievements or extra features.

Verdict

As mentioned, GLWG: All Out War isn’t a sequel so if you’re expecting one you’ll be sorely disappointed. It’s basically a bare-bones “Expansion” pack that gives you 25 new missions to try along with the 4 levels of difficulty. As a fan I may be dying for a sequel, but I’m also pretty happy to have 25 new missions to tide me over for awhile. Great Little War Game is a great little game, and if you liked it as much as I did you’ll definitely want to check out All Out War. You can pick up GLWG: All Out War for $1.99 in the Android market.
