Samsung Galaxy Note Successor Expected To Debut At August 29 Samsung Unpacked Event

Fans of the original Samsung Galaxy Note will be happy to know that its successor is right around the corner.  More specifically, the new Galaxy Note will be announced on August 29 at Samsung’s Unpacked event taking place in Berlin, Germany.  While the name of the successor is unknown, my bet is the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, since Samsung keeps their naming conventions for flagship devices simple (i.e. Galaxy S, Galaxy S II, and Galaxy S III).

The confirmation report comes from Reuters who was in contact with a Samsung rep.  The rep informed Reuters that the Galaxy Note 2 is going to be announced on August 29 with its official launch taking place a few weeks after.

Here’s to hoping the Galaxy Note 2 makes its way to the United States sooner, rather than later and launches on more than two carriers.  Sprint and Verizon Wireless presumably want to get in on the phablet fun as well, Samsung!

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
