Samsung Galaxy S Successor Could Be Announced As Early As MWC 2011

The Samsung Galaxy S has been one of Samsung’s most successful Android smartphones due to its presence in many countries and availability on many carriers. In the United States, the Samsung Galaxy S has quickly become one of the top Android smartphones on every carrier. However, like most great smartphones, Samsung will likely be offering a successor to the original Galaxy S series and the successor is reportedly expected to make an appearance in the Mobile World Congress in February 2011.

No name has been given to the Galaxy S successor, but we do know that it is expected to launch on Android 2.3, run on a dual-core processor, NFC support (similar to the Galaxy Nexus S), and a gyroscope. No word on pricing or availability at this time either, but hopefully we will learn more by February at the MWC.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
