Samsung Has A Less Powerful Galaxy S II Smartphone Under Wraps

According to a product pre-order page through Three Sweden, Samsung has a smartphone dubbed the Galaxy Z that looks to be a slightly less powerful version of the iconic Galaxy S II device.  Purely based on the specs, I’d say it is still a high-end Android smartphone that would perform well in any market, but compared against the mighty Galaxy S II, its specs become slightly less impressive.

In any case, the Galaxy Z features a 4.2 inch Super Clear LCD display, Android 2.3, a 1GHz dual-core processor, WiFi, GPS, 5MP rear faincg camera, and 8GB of onboard memory.  Three Sweden is pricing the device at 3995 SEK, which equals about $632.  The price is most likely off contract, so don’t let it scare you away.  Unfortunately, we have no idea if Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Z in other markets as well.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
