August is shaping up to be an awesome month for Android fans. At a media event in South Korea for the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Shin Jong-kyun, President of Mobile Business and Digital Imaging, reported to the media that the iconic Galaxy S II would launch “sometime in August.”
As you probably already know, Apple is expected to launch the next generation iPhone sometime in early September. With these two smartphone giants both releasing highly anticipated devices within a matter of weeks, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. As of now, we don’t know for sure which American carriers will launch the Samsung Galaxy S II in August. Sprint has been a long-time favorite for the device, as we have already seen leaked images, but let’s not count out AT&T, Verizon, or even T-Mobile just yet.
Hopefully, we will see more leaks and rumors regarding exact availability and pricing for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S II in the coming days and weeks.
Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period.
In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
