Snap the Perfect Picture with Sony’s Pick Pic Camera for Android

Overview

Pick Pic Camera is a new Android App from Sony DNA that lets you shoot and pick the best pictures from the past or future. Is it a new fangled time machine of some sort? Sadly no, but it is a slick Camera app that lets you pick the perfect pic every time…

While we’re not exactly sure how it works (we’re going with Magic) Sony’s Pick Pic Camera basically takes three shots every time you snap a picture. It takes a photo before and after you press the camera button which ensures you take the pic at the right time and not too early or too late. The app also has several different settings for objects that move at different speeds like elderly people or cheetahs… actually we’re not sure about that last one but there are several different options in that area. You can also adjust regular camera settings like white balance, focus, size, and exposure. Another cool features is the “Call Out” function which gives you a whopping 31 sounds you can use to grab people’s attention before snapping the photo. There are some great sounds on there that range from a simple “say cheese” to roosters, bombs, and laughter. It’s a nice little touch and worked well on my niece, my friends and even my dog who definitely paid attention to the weird Cat #2 sound.

Verdict

Sony’s Pick Pic Camera is a cool new photo app that does exactly as advertised, and it does it well. I’ve used the app several times and it did allow me to get a better picture by taking more than one shot. The app is also simple and has more than enough settings (and sounds) to make it worth your while. If you’re a shutterbug it’s an Android app you’ll definitely want to check out. There isn’t a trial version available at this time, but you can pick up the full version of Pick Pic Camera for $2.49 in the Android market.
