Sony Ericsson Gets Official With The Xperia Play, Announcement Coming On February 13
Last night during the Superbowl, Sony Ericsson had a minute of commercial time to introduce the upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Android smartphone. Essentially the video featured the iconic Android logo getting opposable thumbs via surgery and indicating that it is ready to play. Immediately following the airing of the commercial, Sony Ericsson’s Facebook account published the graphic you see above.
On February 13 at Mobile World Congress 2011, Sony Ericsson will have on display a highly anticipated Android smartphone, which combines high-end smartphone specs with a unique Playstation-esque gaming keypad. Whether it will be a hit or miss with the general public remains to be seen, but you can certainly bet there will be a lot of press coverage for the Xperia Play.
