Sprint: Samsung Epic 4G Now Selling For $199 On Contract

In anticipation of the impending onslaught of 4G Android smartphones from various carriers, Sprint has made a proactive move and cut the price of the Samsung Epic 4G. The powerhouse Galaxy S smartphone, with Android 2.1, a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, slider QWERTY keyboard, on the Sprint network has been selling for $250 on a two year contract ever since its launch in August, but an announcement via Twitter made consumers aware of a price change being implemented immediately. The Epic is now available for $199 on a two year contract, which matches it equally with the EVO. Another possible reason for the sudden price drop is due to the release of the HTC EVO Shift 4G, a quality 4G smartphone offered at an exceptional price point — $150 on contract.

Anyone plan on picking up an Epic 4G now that it is $50 cheaper?

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
