Start Using Verizon V Cast Video Android Today

If you own an Android phone on the Verizon network, and really wish you could use the V Cast Video service by Verizon, then you will probably be happy to hear this bit of news.  Verizon has officially rolled out the V Cast service to all Verizon Android smartphones as of today.  The five Android smartphones include the Motorola Droid, HTC Droid Eris, Motorola Devour, HTC Droid Incredible, and the LG Ally.  If you navigate over to the Android Market (the Verizon section of the Market) you should be able to find the V Cast Video app for download.

It is important to note that the app will cost you $10 a month on top of normal data charges.  Since the app features 230 full length programs, it could easily add up to a lot of data charges.  I would recommend purchasing this app if you have an unlimited data plan.  In addition, Verizon is hoping the FIFA 2010 World Cup drives up V Cast sales because Univision Interactive Media will stream all 64 matches live from South Africa.  V Cast also streams college football, college basketball, and NHL Hockey throughout the year.  It features programming from 40 different, prominent broadcasting companies.

My only complaint about the V Cast Video app for Android is the monthly fee.  After a while, that cost is going to add up, but I guess it all depends on how much time one has to sit around and watch videos.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
