The Motorola Droid 3 Officially Launches Today for $199 On Contract
Today, Verizon Wireless officially announced the highly rumored and anticipated Motorola Droid 3. For $199 on a two year contract, customers can immediately purchase the Droid 3 from Verizon’s online website, or they may wait until July 14 when the Droid 3 launches in all Verizon Wireless physical retail stores and third party vendors. Off contract, the Droid costs $459.
The Droid 3 launches with the same specs and features that have been rumored for a long time coming. To recap the specs, the Droid 3 features a 5 row QWERTY keyboard, Android 2.3, a dual-core 1GHz processor, 8MP rear facing camera, 1080p video capture, 4 inch qHD display, and a front facing camera. Keep in mind that like the Droid 2, the Droid 3 is also a Global device, meaning you can talk in over 200 countries and use data in over 125 countries.
It is important to note that the Droid 3 launches on the inauguration of tiered data by Verizon Wireless. 2GB of data per month costs $30 and it can increase from there. If you already have a contract with unlimited data built in, then you can keep unlimited data and simply upgrade to the Droid 3.
