Top 5 Android Apps to Make You Relax
1. Lets Create! Pottery
This one almost didn’t make the list, as there’s not a free version available to try. It was so fun and (eventually) calming that it had to be included. At first, it was a little irritating trying to make the perfect piece of pottery. Eventually I got the process down and now… I can’t put the game down. The point of the game/app is to make pottery, but you get “missions” as the game progresses. You don’t have to do the missions, you can just make pottery if you wish. I made several vases that did not fit the mission requirements and just sold them at auction, instead of submitting them. Yes, you can sell your pottery at the auction and buy different patterns/paints to use. It is a fun & relaxing game worth checking out in the Market.
2. Brainwave Tuner Light
This awesome little app does a number of things, including stimulating your brain waves. This version comes with 10 preset sound patterns including Headache Therapy, Meditation, Intelligence Increase, Earth Peach Night, Self-hypnosis, Sleep Induction and several others. Brainwave Tuner light will generate tones with binaural beats, which can change your brain frequency towards the desired state. It’s gotten a high rating and lots of good reviews. It’s certainly an interesting app, to say the least. You can head on over to the Market and pick it up for free.
3. Stones of Tranquility
In this game, you get to stack stones while listening to the calming effect of a waterfall. You have to tilt your phone left or right, which moves the stone platform as the stones come down. They fall in different shapes and sizes, and always fall slowly. Even when your stones topple, you really don’t mind that much. It may not sound exciting, but it sure is relaxing. There are no time limits or goals involved, except stacking the stones. There is a free version with 7 stones and a paid 3d version with 21 stones.
4. Lightning Bug
Lightning Bug has been around for a while, but some of you may have missed it. I just discovered it a few months ago and have been enjoying the sounds it puts out ever since. It has several different backgrounds, each with their own set of sounds and effects. Most of them are interchangeable, and you can add other themes and sounds as well. You can set up different things like lightning (and the color of it), rain, the ocean, chanting, and fireflies along with a few others. There also a sleep timer, which will come in handy. The program itself is free, but the additional themes are usually 99 cents.
5. Zen Garden
This neat little app lets you rake sand in your own personal Zen Garden. You can setup plants, statues, rocks and many other objects. There are different kinds of rakes to use, or you can just use your finger. It is simple to use and great to kill some time with. The background sounds are a nice touch as well. Zen Garden comes in a lite and paid version, with the paid version offering more sounds, tools, and options.
