Updated Google+ app has new home screen widget and more functions for page owners
Another day and another ‘essential’ Android app update is here. This time around it is the turn of Google to bring us a new version of their very own official Google+ social networking app.
This latest update to Google+ for Android offers users new features and tweaks including support for Google+ pages from within the app at last which gives Google+ page owners more control over their pages whilst using an Android device. Page owners can now post to their own pages and make comments and engage in discussion with their own followers on their pages. This is something that was sadly impossible to do with the previous version of the Google+ app for Android. Google + Pages has been available on the web version of the service for some time and Google have apparently been inundated with requests for the mobile app to allow access to pages, a request that the company has now stepped forward and fulfilled.
The other most notable new feature is a redesign of the ‘Find People’ feature within the app which allows users to view a list of people they may know that also use the Google+ networking service and to find what Google have decided are ‘people of interest’ to a user based on groups or topics that both parties may enjoy. There is also a redesign on the Google+ home screen widget and the ability to use a ‘one click’ system to view photos within posts now.
The latest Google+ app update, which brings the application to version 3.2, is available to download from the Google Play store now.
