Verizon Wireless Could Launch An Android QWERTY Slider Phone This Summer

In case you’re in the market for a mid-range QWERTY slider phone on Verizon Wireless as opposed to the high-end likes of the Motorola Droid 2 or the soon-to-be-released Motorola Droid 3, then you’ll be happy to know that Verizon Wireless is reportedly going to launch a mid-range Samsung slider smartphone soon.

According to a few leaked images picked up by Pocketnow, the Samsung SCH-i405 is said to be similar to Sprint’s Epic 4G in terms of aesthetics and specs as well.  While it’s hard to discern the specs from a blurry image, it is most likely going to launch with a 1GHz processor, 5MP rear facing camera, Android 2.2, and a 3.7 or 4.0 inch WVGA touch screen display.  However, if Verizon can keep the price down and potentially make it a 4G LTE device, I’d say it will be a hit with Verizon’s budget-friendly consumers.  Hopefully, Samsung will have the SCH-i405 available sometime this summer, but we will keep you posted on any further developments.

About the Author

Currently, I live in the United States in the crowded, but enjoyable state of New Jersey. I first began blogging about technology in 2007, right on the precipice of the smartphone, netbook, and GPS boom. Not to mention Facebook and Twitter have started to become increasingly popular during this time period. In terms of Google Android, I have been privileged to test and review many different devices and among my favorites are the Samsung Epic 4G and the HTC Droid Incredible.
