Verizon Wireless Officially Launches The Motorola Droid 2 Global
Verizon Wireless is certainly gearing up for a big Holiday push in terms of wireless sales as the largest American carrier recently launched three phones. The Motorola Droid Pro and the Samsung Continuum were all expected to launch yesterday, but the Motorola Droid 2 Global came as a surprise as Verizon quietly listed it on the product page without the fanfare of a press release. But it’s not like we didn’t know it was coming or anything.
To recap the heavily rumored specs, the Motorola Droid 2 Global features a 1.2GHz Processor, a dedicated GPU, Android 2.2, 8GB internal memory, dual GSM and CDMA chipset for use overseas, a 3.7 inch WVGA touch screen displayer, slider QWERTY keyboard, and a 5MP camera. In terms of pricing, the latest Droid will retail for $199 on a new two year contract. The Motorola Droid 2 Global is very similar to the Motorola Droid 2, but it costs $50 more, has a better processor, and, of course, works overseas.
